If you need a guiding hand, sound advice or just a sounding board then this is where we can help.  We have qualified experts in transporting Dangerous Goods by Air (ICAO/IATA), Road (ADR) and Sea (IMDG).

DGSA

Under the European Agreement of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), it is a legal requirement for any company involved in the carriage, packing, loading, filling or unloading of dangerous goods by road shall appoint at least one safety adviser. The appointed adviser must be qualified through the process of passing exams as set by the Scottish Qualification Authority on behalf of the government.
If you do not wish to employ a safety adviser, MES are able to provide a consultancy service on your behalf to support your business needs.
Our consultancy service packages not only ensure the undertaking meets the requirements of the Regulations, but also provides peace of mind for the business that they are always up to date with any changes implemented.

The main areas covered are:

  • To carry out an initial audit to identify current situation and to ensure regulation standards are being met.
  • On-going monitoring and advising to the undertaking
  • To prepare Annual Report – advise on any recommendations for improvement
  • To ensure all staff are trained to the correct level based on their activities involving dangerous goods

Although transportation by air and sea are not the responsibility of a DGSA, we are able to include an advisiroy role for these modes as part of your package. Our DGSA’s are also CAA approved instructors in line with the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.

All packages vary depending on the business activities and start from a telephone/email advisiroy service to a full onsite audit of fleet and operations. With fully qualified DGSA’s across the UK we are able to offer a full 24 hour a day/365 days a year service. If you would like more information, please contact us.

If you are unsure as to whether you require the services of a DGSA, please contact us for more information.
